With the huge popularity of ipods we thought this would be a unique opportunity to test out optimization techniques to see how important URL was in ranking. Turns out, not a whole lot! For some terms we've seen many low quality, spammy, backlink lacking, keyword stuffed content sites ranking at the top so we bought a bunch of ipod domains and built unique sites on each and developed individual backlinks for each. So, whilst technically not spamming, the network would be better off combined into one place. We will be attempting this large scale integration over the coming months and will let you know the results ... cause we're very sharing ...
